Developing Strength and Resilience with Science-Backed Health and Fitness

I’m Donna Medina — a speaker, educator, and board-certified exercise physiologist with a Master’s in Exercise Science and over 20 years of experience helping people move better, think clearer, and take back control of their health.
As an Board Certified Exercise Physiologist, I help people manage both chronic and acute conditions using movement interventions designed to support real function and long-term resilience.
I don’t do fluff. I speak with purpose — translating the science of the body and mind into words that move people to action. My strength lies not just in what I know, but in how I say it. Whether I’m on a stage, leading a workshop, or hosting a wellness session, I use my voice to bring clarity where there’s confusion and motivation where there’s hesitation.
I’ve seen what happens when people chase trends instead of truth. That’s why my message is rooted in education, structure, and long-term results. I don’t just show up to speak — I show up to shift mindsets. I connect with people where they are, helping them understand their bodies, challenge their limits, and trust the process — not the gimmicks.
I break down complex topics like aging and longevity, making the science of staying strong and sharp as we grow older something people can actually understand — and apply. I talk about how movement isn’t just for muscles, it’s an intervention for the brain, the heart, and the organs that keep us going. I connect the dots between physical strength and cognitive resilience, showing how intentional movement can reduce inflammation, regulate blood pressure, and even support neuroplasticity.
When I speak on menopause, I don’t shy away from the messy parts. I walk people through the hormonal shifts, the emotional roller coasters, and the physical changes — while equipping them with evidence-based strategies that actually support the body during this transition. The same goes for heart health — I unpack the real science behind cardiovascular aging, not just what shows up in a headline or a step challenge.
Nutrition education is another layer of the conversation. I talk about how what we eat fuels — or fights — our internal systems, and how certain patterns of eating can either drive up inflammation or support cellular repair. I connect nutrition to movement, stress, sleep, and mood, helping people see the full picture of how their daily choices impact their long-term well-being.
And stress? I don’t treat it like a buzzword. I get into how chronic stress impacts hormone regulation, blood sugar, digestion, and mental clarity — and I offer science-backed tools to manage it that don’t feel like just another item on the to-do list.
Whether I’m helping someone recover from dysfunction, navigate perimenopause, or finally feel strong after years of setbacks, my focus is the same — real change. That means giving people tools that work and teaching them how to use them, without the gimmicks or shortcuts.
I don’t just build training plans — I build resilience. And I believe in showing up fully, even when it’s hard. That’s what I ask of the people I work with, too. Because when you commit to doing the work, you open the door to powerful transformation — the kind that goes way beyond the gym.
If you’re looking for a speaker who brings science, story, and soul to every room — who knows the body, respects the brain, and meets people where they are — let’s talk.
The Real Strategy for Thriving in Work and Health — Without Burning Out
I help people move better, get stronger, and stay healthy for life, backed by science, not trends.
With over two decades of experience in health and fitness, I’ve dedicated my career to evidence-based programs that create real change. As a board-certified exercise physiologist with a Master’s in Exercise Science, I specialize in strength training, boxing fitness, and cardiac rehabilitation, helping clients rebuild strength, reduce pain, and regain confidence at any age.
My clinical background, behavioral analysis coaching methods, and signature system—the M.E.S.S. Method—bring a well-rounded and practical approach to wellness. M.E.S.S. stands for Movement, Eating, Sleep, and Stress, the four key pillars I focus on to help people build sustainable, lasting health.
I’m also the author of Stronger at Any Age, a science-backed guide that empowers women to embrace their strength, resilience, and health through every stage of life.
At my studio, Gymnanigans, I work with people of all ages to improve mobility, build functional strength, and break free from unhealthy patterns without the gimmicks or fluff.
I’ve seen firsthand how strength transforms lives physically, mentally, and emotionally. That’s what drives everything I do. Whether I’m leading workshops, consulting, or speaking to audiences, my mission is simple:
to inspire informed, meaningful, and lasting health transformations.
